Alan Espinet Full-Stack Web Developer... and More

About

Alan Espinet - Picture

Overview

Hello there! I’m Alan — the kind of developer who codes all day for work… and then keeps coding for fun. My philosophy is simple: “If you want to learn to code, you must code.” That’s why I never stop. Every framework is intriguing, every library has something to teach, and every technology presents a new challenge. I work in programming, read about programming, watch videos about programming… and then go right back to programming. That’s how I improve — and it’s how I have fun. Over the years, I’ve worked as a Front-End Developer, Full-Stack Web Developer, and even a Video Game Developer (Unity + C#). I’ve also spent years teaching programming, and today I channel all that knowledge and experience into delivering the best version of myself.

Below, you’ll find my most relevant skills, organized by categories. These aren’t the only skills I have — just the ones I consider worthy of the spotlight. If you have any questions over missing skills, you can contact me through my LinkedIn profile.

When I’m not coding (yes, it happens), you’ll find me enjoying chess, solving Rubik’s cubes, riding roller coasters, or getting lost in a fantasy novel.

My Skills

Front-End Development

  • HTML5 + CSS 3
  • High proficiency with JavaScript and jQuery
  • React.js + Next.js
  • CSS preprocesors (SCSS, SASS and LESS

Back-End Development

  • Node.js + Express.js + GraphQL
  • PHP + Frameworks like Symfony and Laravel
  • SQL + MySQL
  • MongoDB + Mongoose
  • Deep knowledge of the WordPress CMS (theme creation, plugin development, Gutenberg, etc.)
  • C# + .NET Development [Entry Level Knowlegde]

Accessibility

Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in accessibility — from following WCAG 2 and Section 508 standards to designing products with accessibility at their core and performing detailed accessibility audits.

I’m a developer who understands that accessibility is NOT optional — it is a CRITICAL part of EVERY product and service. Beyond meeting legal requirements, I see it as a matter of humanity and empathy. That’s why I stay informed and up to date on accessibility best practices, ensuring every solution I deliver is usable by everyone.

Python and AI

I fully understand that with each passing day, the world leans further toward AI technologies — and in this shift, Python has become a must-have language for countless developers and companies. I don’t fear AI; I don’t see it as a threat — I INTENT TO MASTER IT.

That’s why I’ve been studying Python and AI relentlessly for the past few months, as if every day were the last day on Earth — and I will continue with the same dedication. My goal is simple: to evolve alongside the world.

While my Python + AI skills may not YET place me on the professional radar (emphasis on YET), it’s only a matter of time before I’m ready. This is the commitment I’ve made to myself — and I will see it through.

General Knowledge

As you’d expect, I possess the core skills every developer needs to get the job done: solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures, proficiency with version control (primarily Git), basic Photoshop design skills (this website, for example, was designed entirely from scratch by me), and experience managing packages with npm, Composer, and pip, etc.

I don’t list these in a separate box because, frankly, these are fundamentals — skills that every developer should have.
